Get to Know the Air India Frequent Flyer Program
On April 3, 2024, Air India made significant changes to its Flying Returns loyalty program:
- Revenue-Based Points: Points are now earned and redeemed based on the revenue spent rather than the distance flown. This includes dynamic award pricing, making more seats available for point redemptions but potentially at higher costs for premium cabins.
- Evergreen Points: Points now only expire if there is no Air India flight activity credited within 24 months, instead of the previous 36-month hard expiration.
- Cash + Points: Members can now use a combination of cash and points for ticket purchases.
These changes aim to modernize the program and make it more competitive.
